The CMA has held on Tuesday 10/2/2015 a workshop regarding the "Memorandum of Understanding on Coordinating the Cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Capital Markets Authority", which aims at minimizing the overlap in functions and the document cycle. The workshop tackled various aspects of the MOU, which were as follows:
- CMA's obligations
- Scope of application of the MOU signed among both parties
- Main definitions and terms mentioned in the MOU
- Functions defined by the MOU regarding the licensed persons and the listed and unlisted companies
- Functions defined by the MOU concerning the general terms such as the violations, penalties, correspondences, and amendments
- Functions defined by the MOU regarding a number of activities like issuing bonds and Sukuk, merger, corporate governance, in addition to the rules and regulations related to the securities activities
