CMA LAW: Circular No. (6) of 2020 Regarding Postponing the Date of Holding the General Assemblies of the Financial Year that Ended on 31/12/2019 through the Electronic System

In reference to Circular no. (5) issued on 14/05/2020, and pursuant to the decision of the Council of Ministers in its meeting held on 28/05/2020 regarding the partial lockdown starting from 31/05/2020 and its announcement of the stages of the gradual return to normal life, and in line with this decision, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) draws the attention of the companies listed in the Exchange and the closed shareholding companies that are licensed to practice any securities activities, whose financial year ended on 31/12/2019 and have not held its General Assemblies yet, the CMA invites those companies to hold the General Assembly through personal attendance if possible in accordance with the health controls and requirements, or through the system of Kuwait Clearing Company (eAGM) in not later than 29/06/2020, and to comply with the dates and procedures of the invitation to convene.
The companies shall provide the CMA with a copy of the audited financial statements of the financial year that ended on 31/12/2019 through the following email: gr@cma.gov.kw.
The CMA also notes that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry receives the notifications of holding the general assemblies through the following email: JSC@moci.gov.kw , taking into consideration that the notification letter should be in PDF format, signed by an authorized person, and attached with the agenda.
