CMA LAW: CMA Circular No. (13) of 2026 Regarding National Risk Assessment

Greetings,
With reference to the national risk assessment process that aimed to identify and understand the risks associated with money laundering and terrorism financing inside the State of Kuwait, and develop effective policies and procedures to mitigate risks, enhance compliance with international standards, particularly the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations, in order to ensure protection of the Kuwaiti financial system, and enhance international cooperation in combating financial crimes, which relied on analyzing financial and non-financial sectors, monitoring potential vulnerabilities, and determining the level of threats and risk exposure.
In this regard, the Kuwait Financial Intelligence Unit (KwFIU) has published the executive summaries of the National Risk Assessment reports through its website to raise awareness of risks at the national level among stakeholders within your entities.
Accordingly, the CMA urges all licensed persons to view the aforementioned executive summaries through visiting the website of Kuwait Financial Intelligence Unit (KwFIU) on the following link:
