Title: CMA’s Ceremony for the volunteers of the awareness program with INJAZ Kuwaiti Society
Kuwait City – 20th April 2019, on the substantial initiative of INJAZ Kuwaiti Society and in coordination with the Capital Markets Authority's Awareness Office, the staff of the CMA were honored in the implementation of joint cooperation programs between the two sides on Thursday, April 18th, 2019 at CMA.
These programs were implemented in cooperation with the two parties in November 2016. They were distributed over several phases of two years which aimed at enhancing the financial culture and spreading financial awareness in the educational sector, especially in the intermediate and secondary education stages in government and private schools from all Kuwaiti governorates.
In addition, the awareness and education programs implemented between two programs of "Finance Decisions, The Lifetime Project" for the intermediate stage, "Personal Finance, Innovation Site" for the secondary stage have been implemented. This led to the implementation of 192 awareness workshops carried out by volunteers of the CMA in 48 schools which resulted in reaching2,216 students in the intermediate and secondary educational stages.
It should be noted that the CMA’s path to implement such awareness programs is based on its keenness to play its role in the development of society, especially as it has made it one of the objectives of promoting the level of financial, investment, and legal culture related to capital markets in all sectors of society. The project is also one of the strategic directions of the Awareness Office, “The National Project for Promoting Financial Culture”, currently being implemented, which is an important strategic direction for the CMA, as it is the basis of a regional initial experience that transcends the role of the regulatory authorities, which usually remains within the limits of the securities activities of, investors and licensed persons of all classes and categories, to target different segments of society, especially in the educational sector at different educational and university levels of the national generations to meet the needs of the labor market in line with the future development directions of the state by providing them with the expertise and knowledge required to reach the educational and community outputs desired in accordance with the programs of conflict in accordance with the latest international standards.
The CMA would like to express its appreciation to the representatives of the INJAZ Kuwaiti Society for their cooperation in the success of the project. At the same time, the CMA is currently preparing a new phase of cooperation with INJAZ in line with its efforts to complete the programs of its National Project for the Promotion of Culture Finance and the preparation of new initiatives within the framework of this strategic project, which will extend for years to come. Where the preparation of awareness programs targeting undergraduate students in coordination with the departments and bodies of teaching in many colleges and universities, government and private. In addition to the preparation of future local and international awareness initiatives which will be announced in parallel with the operational stages of the project.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
