CMA LAW: Press Release Regarding Resolution No. (11) of 2026 Regarding the Amendment of the Provisions of Settlement in the Crimes Stipulated in Law No. 7 of 2010 Regarding the Establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and Regulating Securities Activities and their amendments

Kuwait, January 18, 2026 - Within the framework of the Capital Markets Authority’s (CMA) continuous pursuit to develop the rules that regulate securities activities, and its pursuit to be in line with the latest developments in capital markets as well as the internationally recognized standards of securities activities, the CMA has issued on Thursday 15/01/2026 Resolution No. 11 of 2026, regarding the establishment of a new Appendix to Module Three of the Executive Bylaws of Law No. 7 of 2010 and its amendments, namely appendix (9) regarding the application for settlement, which outlines the application for settlement with the CMA, the conditions that shall be fulfilled for its consideration, the documents that shall be attached to it, and payment of the fee that shall be deducted later from the settlement amount in the event that the CMA approves the application.
The CMA is constantly looking forward to developing the securities activities working system, in a way that achieves efficiency and transparency, and meets the best applicable practices and standards.

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) of Kuwait was established pursuant to Law No. 7 of 2010 Regarding the Establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and Regulating Securities Activities, and its amendments, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Under this Law, the CMA regulates and supervises securities activities, ensures transparency, fairness, efficiency, and observes listed companies’ implementation of Corporate Governance regulations. The CMA also protects investors from unfair practices and violations of the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law stipulates the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs pertaining to securities activities.
