Title: The Capital Markets Authority Publishes the Sixth Issue of its Electronic Awareness Magazine
Kuwait, December 4, 2021 – The new issue of the Capital Markets Authority’s (CMA) electronic awareness magazine opens with an article by the Managing Director of the CMA, Prof. Ahmad Al-Melhem. In this article, Prof. Al-Melhem presents the most prominent initiatives witnessed this year, which took their way to turn into reality despite the continuing repercussions of the pandemic, such as the application of the the Qualification Examinations Project for Registered Employment Positions, the start of the financial derivatives era, as well as the launch of the sustainable development path, in addition to many other directions. The issue concludes with an article by the editor-in-chief of the magazine, the Director of the Awareness Office at the CMA, in which he addresses the issue of the digital transformation awareness at the CMA.
The sixth issue of the magazine is full of rich topics that varied between economic matters and securities activities, and a coverage of the CMA's news and events. It also tackles issues from the past and the future, and presents a simplified reading of the lessons learned from the Asian crisis in the late nineties of the last century, as well as the various forms of our contemporary economy and their implications, in addition to the consequences related to the Gross Domestic Product figures (GDP).
Dr. "Youssef Abdullah Al-Awadi", a distinguished economic figure, is the guest of an extensive interview on many aspects of our national and economic issues, and Dr. Al-Awadi's opinion regarding such issues.
Another section, demonstrates the journey of the late Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al-Bahr in the world of business and commerce, and as humanitarian and charitable inspiration.
The issue’s “File” is allocated to sustainable financing and the recommendations related to it within the framework of the CMA's work. As for the "Prospects and Directions" section, it presents CMA's recently launched digital transformation strategy. The new issue also covers various topics, such as the prospects for e-training in the post-pandemic period, and job satisfaction among the CMA’s employees.
The "Legal Section" is included two useful topics, as the first of them deals with the issue of Primary Direct Listing in the United States of America and the extent of its expected future effects on subscriptions and listings on securities exchanges, while the second deals with the issue of commercial arbitration as a model for settling disputes.
As for "The Growing Phenomenon of Corporate Division", "The Mission of Saving Tik Tok", "The Crises Facing the Chinese Economy", and "The Emerging Challenges of the Suez Canal" are the most prominent economic news covered by the issue.
The new issue of the magazine presents several reports related to the activities of the capital market and CMA’s tasks. It also presents an extensive overview of the CMA's most prominent activities and events during the three-month period covered by the issue.
Finally, it should be noted that the CMA’s Magazine is a quarterly electronic awareness publication. It is concerned with the economic affairs and securities activities, aiming to cover the CMA’s news and activities, and to contribute to the required awareness by addressing financial, investment and legal issues.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
