Title: "Provisions of the Partial Purchase Offer" is the subject of the First Awareness Event of the Capital Markets Authority of 2019

KUWAIT CITY, January 15, 2019 - The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) started its awareness program for the year 2019 through the opening of its first awareness workshop January 15, 2019.

The workshop, presented by Ms. Hanan Al Gharbali - Director of Mergers & Acquisitions, at the CMA, and Mr. Fahad Al Sabeeh, Manager of Acquisition Section, discussed the topic of "Partial Purchase Offer", its definition and nature, in addition to its terms and conditions, and procedures of implementation.

The speakers elaborated on the cases and determinants of the partial purchase offer and the withdrawal, then they reviewed the details of the fees involved in making this offer. The last part of the workshop was dedicated to answering the questions of the participants and answering their questions.

Other CMA speakers were Mr. Khalid Al-Fahd, Manager of the Studies and Legislation Section - Legal Studies Department, and Mr. Fuad Al-Ateeqi representative of the Awareness Office.

The CMA is pleased to welcome the inquiries and suggestions on the various aspects of its activities in general and its awareness activities in particular.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
