Title: Capital Markets Authority – Second Awareness Workshop “Requirements and Obligations of Licensed Persons Regarding Positions that Require Registration”

KUWAIT CITY, 18 December 2018 - The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) held its second awareness workshop on Tuesday, December 18th, in the framework of implementing its last awareness program for 2018 at Khaled Al Kharafi Hall at the Market Building at 1:00 pm, the workshop covered “Requirements and Obligations of Licensed Persons Regarding Positions that Require Registration” through the following four aspects:

- Concerned persons of positions that require registration.

- Definition of the functions of senior executives.

- The mechanism for submitting an application regarding positions that require registration.

- The provisions of joining positions that require registration.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA Law.
Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
