CMA LAW: Press Release: The Capital Markets Authority Publishes the Most Recent Issue of its Electronic Awareness Magazine: Tifouni: “The Future of Securities-based Crowdfunding in Kuwait”.. is promising.

Kuwait City – 2 March 2026, Mr. Emad Ahmed Tifouni - Chairman of CMA Board of Commissioners - Managing Director stated that CMA is looking forward with high hopes for the Securities-based Crowdfunding in the upcoming period of time, with high expectations of registering more companies that applied for this service in the concerned register at the CMA, in conjunction with increasing demand by investors and entrepreneurs for its multiple advantages that is not limited to them, but extends to include companies and the national economy in general. Before concluding his talk, MR. Tifouni reassured that the successful application of this investment instrument and financing channel is based on the integrating efforts with all relevant parties.

That was the focus of the Editorial of the most recent awareness publication of the CMA, the twenty third Issue of CMA Electronic Awareness Magazine, announced to be published on Sunday March 1, 2026.

Subjects presented in sections of the magazine included various awareness issues and covered the CMA’s news and events during the period from December 2025 to February 2026.
“Economic Leaders” section is usually dedicated to present the life and achievement of national characters in the history of Kuwait. The current issue of the magazine presented the life and achievements of the late Muhammad AbdulMuhsen AlKhurafi, beginning with his sustainable economic success, and ending with his political, national, patriotic, and humanitarian roles.
“Legal Section” presented two subjects: “Artificial Intelligence, a future partner in promoting legal performance” and “The legal framework of foreign investment in Kuwait Stock Exchange: The 1982 Al-Manakh stock market crisis as a regulatory backdrop for exempting Capital Markets Authority contracts from the scope of conflict of laws”, written by Dr. Fatima Al-Huwaile, Assistant Professor of Private International Law at the Faculty of Law, Kuwait University.

The "Issue Event" section presented demonstration for the developments of construction of the CMA’s permanent headquarters as a sustainable architectural icon, combining authenticity and modern aspects, in addition to its strategic location and compliance with the highest relevant international standards.
In the "Opinion and Vision" section, Mr. “Ahmad alKeswani”, Partner and Head of Financial Services at BWC Consulting Company, presented his expectations of dynamic changes in the bank sector in the GCC countries by the technical invention and transformation, as well as green investments and sustainability initiatives, considering that these transformations include a number of opportunities and challenges at the same time.

The “awareness Section” presented two topics: the first is for Eng. Maha Ahmad Albaghli, founder of “Al Safeera Company for Social Responsibility”, in which she presented her opinion of reasons for women not managing their funds and gave solutions for this issue. The second topic is dedicated to income-generating real estate funds, considering them an opportunity to diversify investment products and a tool for developing the real estate market.

“Information Awareness” section covered the topic of “Threats of generative artificial intelligence-based chatbots”, such as data leaks, privacy violations, security vulnerabilities, and fake information.

The "Issue File" section, dedicated to financial technologies, presented these technologies before the emergence of the term "Fintech", in addition to the topic of the regulatory testing environment in financial markets and the need to achieve the required balance between innovation and regulatory oversight.
The “Prospects and Trends” section presented the topic of special purpose acquisition companies, including their advantages, opportunities, and challenges.
This was followed by “The Core” section by Mr. Muhammad AlHumaid, Development and Technical Studies Unit Manager at the CMA, which discussed the topic of “Risk Management in Financial Institutions”, followed by “Studies” section that presented details regarding the CMA’s membership and its institutional representation in the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

In the issue’s final section “In conclusion”, the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Mr. Khaled Al-Saqer, Awareness and Public Relations and Communication Office Director, presented the CMA’s efforts related to protecting the rights of shareholders and stakeholders through its oversight procedures and the application of applicable laws to everyone in accordance with the required standards of fairness and transparency.

Finally, it is worth noting that CMA’s electronic awareness magazine is a quarterly awareness publication concerned with the awareness of financial, investment, and legal issues related to securities activities, in addition to covering the CMA’s news and events during the issuance period.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
