Title: The Capital Markets Authority Launches its New Website
Kuwait, May 25, 2021 - The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) announced the launch of its new website on the Internet www.cma.gov.kw , within the framework of the Authority's continuous keenness to develop and update its services. The website allows browsers to access information and services related to financial markets in all ease and convenience to follow the Authority’s news and the latest developments and services provided, in order to enhance transparency and facilitate the delivery of information to all users of the website and the beneficiaries that are covered by the Authority’s supervision.
The Authority clarifies that its new website is designed in line with the its strategy to implement its objectives with the Kuwait Vision 2035, as the entire interface is changed and the electronic content is updated. The new website also covers all services provided to individuals and companies and includes a complete archive of the Authority’s resolutions and circulars since its commencement. The website is an important reference for specialists and those interested in the field of financial markets, and when designing the new website, the Authority was keen to apply modern technologies and keep pace with the development of the security infrastructure to maintain information security according to international standards. The site works efficiently on all devices, whether they are office, portable, or tablet devices or smart phones.
It is worth noting that the Authority publishes on its website all annual reports, in addition to the Authority’s magazine for those interested in economic affairs in general and those interested in financial markets in particular. It also publishes the pages dedicated to submitting complaints, reports, proposals and the right to access information. The website also includes laws and legislation that govern the work of the Authority and the licensed companies and the work of institutions subject to its supervision.
It should also be mentioned that the Authority’s website is a main source for obtaining information, and the Authority is keen to shed light on the latest developments that occurred recently on the tasks and efforts it carries out, especially its efforts related to the regulation and supervision of capital markets, enhancing transparency and protecting investors, as well as supervising Boursa Kuwait and the Kuwait Clearing Agency.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
