Title: Press Release: An Awareness Campaign by the Capital Markets Authority Regarding Gulf Smart Investor Award
Kuwait, October 15, 2022 – The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) started its awareness campaign concerning Gulf Smart Investor Award, which represents an unprecedented initiative of the Gulf Investment Awareness Program “Mulim”. The participation in its various competitions, which was announced earlier in March, is extended until November 26th.
The CMA’s intensive awareness campaign will last until the final day of participation. It aims to provide the required awareness of the award and its divisions and conditions to all the citizens and residents. In addition, it organizes events and activities through the television, radio, and newspapers, publishes awareness messages through the CMA’s accounts on social media, and organizes mass events.
It is worth noting that the initiative of “Gulf Smart Investor Award” aims to enhance the financial literacy and raise the investment awareness and effective communication between the current and future entities that regulate the capital markets in the GCC countries, that are concerned with securities activities, by permitting the public to participate in the production of a creative content relevant to financial and investment awareness issues through numerous available methods such as: drawing, photography, and videography.
Furthermore, the award has reached its critical stages with the approach of the closing period of its participation, which extends from June 1 until November 26. It enters its final stage at the procedures of choosing and declaring the winners of its valuable awards in a total of 275 thousand Saudi Riyals presented to the first three ranks of its three competitive areas (video, drawing, photography).
This event is one of the products of the Gulf Investment Awareness Program “Mulim” in its second year. It is a joint program between the GCC regulatory entities that started in November 2020. It aims to provide the necessary financial and investment awareness to the persons dealing in the financial markets from various sectors.
As the CMA announces its awareness campaign of this competition, it advices the public to view its conditions and its awards’ divisions, and to participate in it due to being a valuable opportunity to express their talents, present their creative visions, view innovative ideas that enhance the investment awareness, and strengthen sound financial habits and correct behaviors in the securities activities.

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the CMA shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, observe listed companies’ execution of Corporate Governance regulations, and protect investors from unfair practices which violate the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs related to securities activities.
